Introduction:
This is to refresh your memory of the operation
to uncontrolled airports in the Kingdom.
Please use this as a guide only. You will have
more updated information available in NOTAMS
and approach charts. We wish you a smooth and
successful training.
Airports highlight:
The following points should be considered when
you operate to uncontrolled airports.
Arrival:
Establish communication with destination radio
frequency (131.5)
Give ETA
Get currant
weather.
Advise which
runway will be used for landing, and ask for VASI or PAPI for preferred
light intensity.
Get ant
traffic information if available on ground or arrival at destination.
Establish communication with destination fire
rescue station on frequency (133.5) not less than 15 minutes
before landing.
Give aircraft
registration and type. ( MD-90 PF )
Give ETA
And runway
intended for landing.
Establish communication with TIBA frequency (
122.8 )
TIBA procedures
are enforced in all class G airspace, from the surface up to 11.500
ft MSL and within 40 NM
And in the ATZ
( airdrome traffic zone )
ATZ is an airspace
of detailed dimensions around an airdrome, which is about 20 NM
in all kingdom airports.
When operating to uncontrolled airports, standard
turns (left) are required to enter the traffic pattren within
5 status mile ( 4.34 NM ) from
the center of the airport.
Departure:
Prior to departure maintain a listening watch
for at least 5 minute on TIBA ( 122.8 )
Broadcast taxi.
Broadcast the aircraft position and intentions
before crossing or entering a runway for takeoff
Broadcast before commencing the take-off roll
Broadcast when the aircraft is airborne, when
it leaves the traffic circuit and when it leaves the ATZ.
Report the ATD when communication is established
with ATC to activate the flight plan for alerting
and search and rescue purposes
When operating to uncontrolled airports, standard
turns (left) are required to enter the traffic pattren within
5 status mile ( 4.34 NM ) from
the center of the airport. However a non-standard turn up to 20 degrees
from the runway direction is approved.

an elevation of 5486 feet.
Runway 25 is weight-restricted due to high mountains
located south east of the airport. |

| RESTRICTION |
AL BAHA is a special airport. Please check policy manual
chapter (02.02.45) for restrictions. |

and BAHRAIN FIR EAST of the airport. |
